Imran Hussain says the threatened closure of the Post Office on New Hey Road in East Bowling is "completely unreasonable".
Imran, together with local councillors and residents, is supporting a petition started by postmistress Bindy calling for the vital community resource to stay open.
Imran says: "After speaking with the postmistress and concerned local residents, it’s quite obvious that this post office is extremely important to the local community in this part of East Bowling.
"It is a post office that is used and is busy.
"It’s also convenient for our older residents who should have easy access to their local post office, especially in weather that we’ve been faced with in recent weeks.
"I have been door-knocking and speaking to people all along New Hey Road and having seen the amount of signatures on the petition, I find closing the post office that is quite clearly valued here is completely unreasonable."
